In 2012, St. Luke’s worked with the Episcopal Diocese of Albany and Bishop Love to approve a DEPO (Delegated Episcopal Pastoral Oversight) relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont and Bishop Ely. The benefit of this relationship is that it gives our Parish a means to officially differentiate itself from the conservative theological stance of the Albany Diocese (while remaining part of that Diocese) and to open the door to more formal relations with the part of the Episcopal Church to which  we feel more theologically aligned. Both Bishop Love and the representatives of our parish believe that with this arrangement, current tensions are decreased and we can focus more effectively on sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The DEPO arrangement is renewed yearly with the agreement of the Parish Priest, Wardens, Vestry, the Bishop of Albany and the Bishop of Vermont.
